Arrival day in South Africa - JohannesburgFlights to South Africa
On your arrival (Johannesburg) you will be met by a Kaia Safaris representative and transferred to your pre tour accommodation.
After an early departure from Johannesburg we will make our way to Mpumalanga (place of the rising sun), where we will check into our hotel in the late afternoon. This will be our base for the next few days while exploring the area..
Get the cameras ready as we head to Kruger National Park in search for the Big Five (Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo). After a long day in the park we will return to our accommodation.
Enjoy another full days game drive in Kruger National Park, with approximately 2,000 plant, 53 fish, 34 amphibian, 118 reptile, 517 bird and 147 mammal species ready for you to discover. You will experience first-hand why Kruger National Park is known as the flagship of South African national parks. In the evening, back at camp you can sit around a campfire with your sundowner and enjoy the African night sounds drifting into the camp area.
Leaving Mpumalanga behind we head back to Pretoria where we will visit the Voortrekker Monument, Union Buildings (Parliament) and city tour. Tonight, our home will be the Lesedi Cultural village, where you will experience Ethnic hospitality. Guided tour through the cultural village, a typical dinner and then cultural dancing.
An early departure from the village and on to Johannesburg for our domestic flight to Port Elizabeth – known as the friendliest city in South Africa. We will arrive in the afternoon and you will have time to explore the city before we check into our accommodation.
Today we will leave for the Garden Route, all the way down the east coast of South Africa to Cape Town.
Stormsriver Bridge will be our first stop. (Garden Route is known for it`s bridges).
Tsitsikama National Park will be our next stop. A coastal park with absolute beautiful scenery – take a walk on the hangbridge over the Stormsriver or just relax on the rocks. On our way to Knysna we will also visit the following:
Big tree. – An 800 year old oak tree.
Bloukrans and Stormsriver passes.
Knysna is a small town on the Garden Route … small but very interesting. Artist flog to here for the natural beauty. You will have the day free to explore and relax. There is the optional excursion to the Featherbed reserve – board the boat “old three legs” for a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon into the Knysna Heads, then dock at the Featherbed Nature reserve for lunch. After lunch you will go for a tractor trailer ride to the top of the Knysna Heads and have a stroll back to the boat.
After a good nights rest we leave the coastal area for our inland journey over the Outeniqua Mountains into the semi dessert area of The Klein Karoo, also known as the home of the ostrich. Karoo is a Koisan word meaning thirsty land. We will visit the world famous:
Crocodiles and Cheeta breeding centre.
A working ostrich farm and an ostrich barbeque for lunch.
A long day as we travel to our last destination through spectacular mountain passes and deep valleys On our way we will be visiting Swellendam – the third oldest town in South Africa.
A relaxed day as we travel to the wine lands of South Africa for some good wine tasting. Visit Stellenbosch – second oldest town of South Africa. Also pay a visit to:
Paarl. *Afrikaans Language monument. *Franschoek.
A full day ahead as we set off for a day tour of the Cape Peninsula.
Houtbay – boat trip to the seal island.
Cape Point – where the two oceans (Atlantic and Indian) meet.
Simonstown – a lot of British history in this little town, which served as a naval base. *Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens.
Early start to get the first car up to the top of Table Mountain. Down again for a city tour of the Mother City and then free for the afternoon to shop till you drop at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Later we will meet again for a farewell dinner and back to the hotel.
Have a nice lay-in. Check out time is around 12h00 after we will spend some more time around the city on leisure. (depending on flight arrangement back to your home countries)

Optional Night game drive in Kruger Park for your cost and must be booked with your tour leader a day before.
Optional Boat cruise on Knysna Lagoon to the Knysna Heads, lunch on the Featherbed Reserve, ride up the mountain with 4x4 vehicle and slow walk back to the boat.
Optional boat trip in Cape Town to Robben Island where the late President Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.
Boat trip from Houtbay Harbour to see the seal colony on Seal Island.
If you or any other member of your party decides to cancel your confirmed Package you must notify us in writing.
Your notice of cancellation will only take effect when it is received in writing by us at our offices - or by email (when you receive an email response confirmation from us).
Since we incur costs in cancelling your arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown in the table below (the cancellation charge detailed is calculated on the basis of the total cost payable by the person cancelling, excluding insurance premiums and amendment charges which are not refundable in the event of the person to whom they apply cancelling).
